£8.40 to £10.31 per hour

RNOH, Stanmore HA7 4LP 

Full Time - 45 hours per week 

Full Driving Licence required. 

 

We are looking for people to work from our base at RNOH, Stanmore to work across two elements of our business - Patient Transport and Prisoner Escorting.

The successful candidate will be fully trained to be able to work in either role.

You could be driving one of our purpose-built secure vehicles, conducting searches, escorting prisoners, managing prisoners at Court, or completing paperwork. Your focus will always be on safety and security whilst treating people with respect and consideration. You will be trained to ensure that all prisoners, regardless of any allegations or convictions, are dealt with consistently, fairly and in line with regulations.  In this fast paced environment, you will need to remain calm under pressure, adapt to changing situations and have a full UK driving licence along with the ability to occasionally work at weekends.

You could be driving or assisting on a non-emergency patient transport ambulance transporting sick, injured or convalescent persons. The job purpose is to provide and maintain a caring environment for these patients and provide a transport service as appropriate for the needs of the patient. You will be moving and handling patients under non-emergency conditions, using appropriate equipment where necessary. Safety is of paramount importance and the post holder must ensure that safe systems of work are followed without compromise.  The post holder needs to be committed to maintaining high standards of customer care and service delivery. It is also your responsibility to clean the vehicle, complete vehicle checks, report defects, complete risk assessments and complete incident reports.

If you have great people skills, a non-judgmental approach and ideally a C1 driving licence;  you could train for a career that’s both challenging and rewarding.

This role requires the ability to deal with vulnerable and difficult people whilst maintaining high standards of security and service delivery. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital. The role requires the flexibility to work across a wide variety of sites/locations.

  • A caring attitude towards patients and an outgoing friendly manner, and able to show empathy
  • The post holder must be willing to undergo suitable training including Manual Handling, Risk Assessment, Customer Services, Client Induction, Advanced Driving and First Aid
  • Demonstrate high level of commitment to the provision of an efficient and effective service
  • Ability to work to deadlines, at times under considerable pressure without compromising standards of performance and calm under pressure
  • Completed, clear enhanced DBS check.
