Health and Safety Manager

The role will be Home-based, but will require travel to sites.

Salary: £40 000 - £50 000 depending on experience

The Ideal Candidate

 

Essential skills:

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Chartered Safety Practitioner
  • Accident Investigation Qualification
  • 5 years’ experience in a hands on safety role, preferably Understanding of risks and requirements on building systems
  • Significant experience in a managerial Health and  Safety role
  • Fire Risk Assessment qualification
  • Auditing qualification
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Mobile geographically across UK

 

Job Outline:      

Reporting directly to the MD, the Health and Safety Manager will provide professional support to the business on all aspects of H&S. 

As the Health and Safety Manager, you will develop and maintain business the H&S Policy and associated management systems. Advise, support and guide the management and staff teams on the implementation of the Company Health, Safety and Welfare, and Environmental policies.

You will undertake and support audits, inspections and tours to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff, stakeholders and customers.

The Health and Safety Manager will develop, maintain and monitor health, safety and environmental strategies and training, as well as investigate and report on accidents that occur.

 

Desirable skills

  • Experience of project/ work planning, monitoring and reviewing
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and ability to interpret financial information
  • Formal audit qualification
  • Experience of designing and running training programmes
