Thames Valley SARC
Location: Slough & Bicester, SL1 2BJ & OX26 2NR - You will need to live within 45 minutes of each location with the role being based across the two SARC sites of Slough and Bicester with an expectation to travel as the needs of the service require.
Salary: £24,000 per annum
Shifts: Monday - Friday 08:30am-5:00pm (40hrs)

A Sexual Assault Referral Centre is a dedicated centre providing a comprehensive service to men and women who have suffered sexual assault, both for those who wish to involve the Police and those who self-refer. Utilising a multi-disciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, Crisis Workers, Police Officers and support staff.
The SARC will provide crisis support, appropriate facilities and trained staff for completion of forensic medical examination, provision and advice regarding aftercare including Sexual Health and Emergency contraception, as well as facilitating onward support and referrals to other agencies, such as Counselling, Independent Sexual Violence Advisors and Health.
G4S Health have been delivering SARC services in England since 2012 in partnership with NHS England, Police Forces and key stakeholders.

Job Outline:
To promote the SARC service to public and professionals
To do targeted promotional work to increase under represented and hard to reach groups accessing the SARC service
To develop links with Key partners to promote collaborative working.
To provide advocacy support for all clients accessing the SARC service in line with National guidelines, SARC Best Practice and contractual obligations.
Some of the duties within this role are:
- To plan and promote the SARC service to public and professionals
- To do targeted promotional work to increase under represented and hard to reach groups accessing the SARC service
- To be proficient in the use of social media platforms and have strong IT skills
- To identify and attend promotional and networking events
- To assist the SARC Manager to ensure that Male victims/survivors can be assured that their individual needs will be understood when accessing support from the SARC Service
- Produce and deliver presentations about the SARC service to partner agencies and participate in promotion of the SARC Service, confident in public speaking and delivering talks to large groups
- To maintain the Quality Standards for supporting Male Survivors
The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- Previous Experience of working with vulnerable groups
- Understanding of the gender based needs of Men and Boys
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Good Safeguarding Awareness and Knowledge
- Driving licence and access to own vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS and Police Vetting
Desirable:
- Previous role working with victims of sexual assault
- Forensic Awareness
- Multi-Agency Working
- Marketing and Promotional experience
