Churchill Hospital is a centre of excellence for cancer services and other specialties, including renal services and transplants, clinical and medical oncology, dermatology, haemophilia, chest medicine and palliative care.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Portering Manager to join our friendly team based at Churchill Hospital. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.
As the Portering Manager you will lead the delivery & development of the Portering service, working closely with the Helpdesk Manager and the wider soft services team. You will coordinate the Portering team to ensure services are provided as per the contract and to KPI with minimal or nil paymech penalties. You will also take the lead in the management of all specified operational delivery requirements and company objectives in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities

Leading the Portering team in providing a client-facing interface to ensure a high level of communication is delivered to the Trust and client.

Deal effectively and safely with all service requests and incidents within their range of competence, training and experience as required and by out of hours response where necessary.

Monitor the staff numbers to ensure effective service delivery and contract compliance.

Recruitment and selection of all site staff, utilising the KRONOS payroll and management system.

Provide induction and on-going training and provide effective communication between all stakeholders.

Manage attendance, conduct and performance of staff.

Ensure up to date site specific Standard Operating Procedures are held on site including relevant Health & Safety information.

Produce clear and concise written reports, utilising all company designated IT systems in the service delivery and reporting.

Maintain the professional image of G4S and the client at all times.

Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all G4S & client employees and representatives.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
-
Good Health & Safety Knowledge - ideally IOSH Managing Safely.

Good working knowledge of Concept Evolution CAFM System.
-
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Portering management processes to enable accurate allocation and prioritising.

Good quality management and audit skills.
-
Good communication skills – both written and verbal - and good team working skills.

Ability to approach problems and consider potential solutions.

Excellent experience of coordinating planned and reactive activities.

Knowledge of legislation and technical standards.

IT Skills.
