Job Introduction

Job Outline: To provide day-to-day supervision of the Security Force, ensuring that the physical security for the site meets contractual and customer requirements. This role will require the individual to be able to undertake a rotating shift pattern.

Senior Security Officer

Salary £31,530.13 PA

Location: Cheltenham

Job Outline: To provide day-to-day supervision of the Security Force, ensuring that the physical security for the site meets contractual and customer requirements.  This role will require the individual to be able to undertake a rotating shift pattern

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead and develop a team of Security Officers.
  • To ensure that plans are in place to provide appropriate resources to meet contractual requirements.
  • To act as first point of contact for all emergency calls.
  • To act as the initial Incident Control Officer in the event of an incident or emergency.
  • To ensure incident and performance reports are submitted to the HSO in accordance with HSO requirements.
  • To ensure safe custody of equipment entrusted to the Security Force for use in its operational role.
  • To control voice announcements and radio operations.
  • To ensure Security Force vehicles are regularly checked, maintained and repaired as necessary.
  • To control any confidential or sensitive material that comes into the hands of the Security Force during the course of their duties.
  • To act as custodian of duplicate keys and combination numbers as required.
  • To authorise temporary passes out of hours.
  • To comply with health and safety and emergency procedures.
  • To undertake any other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as required by local management.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Must hold a current SIA licence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be IT literate, with experience of MS Word/Excel
  • Should be organised, methodical and detail orientated
  • Able to adapt to fluctuating work loads
  • Must be willing to undergo extended security clearance

Desirable

  • Supervisory Experience in a similar environment
  • Used to working with confidential and Customer Focused approach
  • Full clean driving licence
