Financial Accountant - Qualified (ACCA)

Full Time

Salary Range £35,000 - £45,000k Per Annum, Car Allowance (£4,980 per annum) and up to 15% bonus.

Job Outline:  To deliver financial accounting services to UK based businesses including the production of statutory and tax accounts

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage and produce Statutory Accounts and Tax returns including corporation Tax and VAT to agreed deadlines.
  • Ensure that core financial accounting policies adhere to legislative requirements.
  • Ensure that reporting requirements and submissions are accurate and adhere to agreed timelines (i.e. National statistics, insurance data, cash flow forecasting).
  • Manage Bank accounts to ensure they are reconciled within agreed deadlines.
  • Manage Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure they are completed to agreed timescales.
  • Performance management of direct reports.
  • Review financial accounting volumetrics to assess trends to ensure effective resource planning.
  • Ensure team are raising and closing periodic service requests within SLA’s.
  • Actively promote equality, diversity and inclusion within the team and lead the team in a manner consistent with these principles.
  • Create a professional environment through good leadership and promote achievement orientated teams
      
     

The Ideal Candidate

Experience/Attributes:

Formal Education

Technical

A qualified accountant with 3-5 year’s experience
A strong technical ability including confidence with group consolidations and a competent understanding of UK and IFRS GAAP

Experience

  • Proven track record of working in an accounting environment.
  • Experience in the production of Statutory and Tax Accounting.
  • Management of a team of accounting staff.
  • Knowledge of SAP and/or other Finance systems.

Personal Qualities

  • Excellent communication skills, must be able to effectively communicate across all levels of the business to resolve issues and Improve processes relating to the Financial Accounting team.
  • Should possess the drive to deliver a high quality service in order to meet agreed service levels.
  • Ability to problem solve escalations relating to production of accounts whilst looking at the wider business impacts and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Ensure fundamental issues are addressed to avoid repeat occurrences.
  • Ability to motivate a team to deliver against service levels and manage them closely to agreed deliverables ensuring business impacts are minimised.
  • Must be willing to help, support and encourage other accountants and offer developmental coaching and assistance.
