Full Time - 37.5 hours per week
Job Outline:
To provide skilled clinical care and interventions to substance misusing patients to a high standard and in line with current national guidance and statutory frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- To be familiar with all aspects of security and safety, consistent with working within a custodial framework and ensure that positive and effective communication links exist between themselves, prison staff, NC DART, community teams/services and any other agency in meeting the needs of this client group.
- To work clinically within all areas of the Substance Misuse/DART treatment delivery system and to role model good practice to all Health Care Support Workers under their responsibility. This will include drug and alcohol assessment, co-working, care planning and review, medication titration and dispensing, BBV interventions, public health advice and discharge planning.
- To continuously assess the psychosocial needs of patients, developing systematic plans for care and evaluation of recovery treatment plans working jointly with members of NC DART.
- To contribute to the general health care needs of the patients. This may include providing primary care interventions such as general medication dispensing, generic health screening and so on.
- To contribute to the teams understanding and implementation of clinical governance systems.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Skills:
- 1st level RN/RMN with current registration
- Evidence of CPD
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of working with SM clients, and/or interest in.
- Experience of working within a secure environment
