Full Time - 40 hours per week (including out of hours cover)
£21,500 per annum

The Home Office’s COMPASS (Commercial and Operational Managers Procuring Asylum Support Services) contracts provide accommodation and transport services to eligible asylum applicants in the UK. G4S manages contracts for these services in the Midlands and East of England and the North East, Yorkshire & Humberside. Services are delivered through a combination of direct delivery and a network of experienced partners from the private, public and voluntary sectors.
We now have an opportunity for a Repair and Maintenance Officer to join our team covering the Midlands Region.
Job Outline:
Deliver the day-to-day maintenance of service user accommodation in line with legislative and contractual standards.
Responsibilities:

Carry out Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance of Service User accommodation and furniture in accordance with contractual requirements and company systems.

Assist with furniture deliveries and installations in Service User accommodation

Deal effectively and safely with the rectification of breakdowns, defects and damage, ensuring timely responses are made and properties are safely and securely maintained.

Check that all tools or stores items including consumables are accounted for at all times so that security is maintained.

Monitor and complete documentation accurately for all work carried out in ensuring adherence with the company systems.

Adhering to safe systems of work procedures and practices and using appropriate safety devices, equipment and clothing provided by G4S

Reporting to the appropriate person all unsafe conditions, damage, near misses – whether or not there are any personal injuries, in order that remedial action can be taken

Update central management information system daily
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Skills:
- Experience in a general maintenance role
- Full clean driving licence
- Good customer care skills
Desirable Skills:
- Qualifications in mechanical/electrical building services/plant installation and maintenance
