We’re bigger, more diverse and involved in more fascinating, cutting-edge projects than many people would imagine and we now have an opportunity for Vocational Instructor - Carpentry to join our team at HMP & YOI Parc, a category B prison, in Bridgend, South Wales, currently holding over 1600 men and young people in a secure but modern environment.

Job Outline

To assist in the smooth and efficient running of the designated security area by providing sound administrative support and assistance in related issues

Responsibilities

  • To provide admin support for the use of restraint, producing weekly reports, liaising with other departments to ensure all paperwork is received in a timely manner, coordinating debriefs and maintaining use of force databases via Excel spreadsheets
  • To maintain and monitor Use of force training databases and organisation of training courses for advanced Tornado training
  • To provide admin support for Security meetings & all other specific meetings within the security function
  • Arrange and order stores for designated areas.
  • Producing monthly security search returns
  • Order and produce – Business Portal orders for security
  • Support the security management team in responding to all correspondence - complaints/letters
  • To provide general administrative support for the security management team. 
  • To assist with the control of stationary ensuring that security areas have adequate supplies to carry out their role. 
  • Support sickness management
  • Assisting in the command suite and ensuring the Command suite is stocked with all stationery and equipment
  • Any other management admin task assigned to you by the security management team

 

 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Skills

  • Excellent communications skills and organised in managing daily tasks
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages 
  • Experience of working in a busy  pressured environment
  • Must be able to work as part of a team but also on own initiative.
  • Stage 2 typing/word processing and minute taking 
  • Excel spreadsheets
