We’re bigger, more diverse and involved in more fascinating, cutting-edge projects than many people would imagine and we now have an opportunity for an OMU Case Administrator to join our team at HMP & YOI Parc, a category B prison, in Bridgend, South Wales, currently holding over 1600 men and young people in a secure but modern environment.
The successful candidate will be required to provide an effective and efficient case administration service to the Offender Management Unit and prison.
Responsibilities:
- Provide full administrative support for Offender Management, including dealing with offender records and supporting the OASys and Sentencing Planning process, ensuring that the relevant policies, public protection and OM procedures, applications and administration processes are followed.
- Maintain effective work systems and take minutes at meetings/boards as required, ensuring that all correspondence and documentation, including allocated Public Protection Policy, HDC, parole, ROTL and custody based administration is dealt with in a professional & timely manner ensuring audit standards and appropriate KPT’s are met.
- Organise and co-ordinate routine interviews and reviews ensuring that they are completed within the prescribed timescales and handling the exchange of information between offender managers and offender supervisors to ensure records are maintained in relation to the allocated offender caseload.
- Deal with all routine queries and liaise and inform relevant departments to ensure relevant processes are followed and appropriate responses are provided.
- Calculate sentences in accordance with latest PSI’s.
- Complete allocated work related to IPPs and Lifers in accordance with the relevant prison service standard in a timely manner to fulfil requirement.
- Maintain an accurate current computer based information system of offender records to ensure information is available to relevant staff and agencies.
- Act in accordance with security and operational instructions at all times to ensure the maintenance of security within the secure environment.
- Assist in maintaining a positive Health & Safety culture in line with British Safety Council 5 Star standards.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Skills:
- Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook Email & Calendar
- Sentence calculation qualified or willing to undertake necessary training
Desirable Skills:
- Previous knowledge and experience in specific offender administration task
- Experience of monitoring service delivery and meeting short term objectives

You must be eligible to work in the UK and must have been resident in the UK for a minimum period of 5 years. You will also need to provide full details of your employment and education history for the last 10 years as part of the security screening process for this role.
