As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for administering the security contract and ensuring compliance with the regulatory and contractual requirements.  This position will act as G4S liaison with the client, law enforcement agencies, customers, and employees.  This position is also responsible for management oversight and driving operational accountability through effective change management and leadership development processes.  This Security Site Supervisor plans, organizes, directs, and controls the operational and administrative activities of the contract on a day to day basis as well as proposing and implementing proactive measures to improve performance and expand the operation.  This individual is directly accountable for the success, performance, compliance, and public perception of the program.

Main Responsibilities

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Provide direct supervision to security officers; ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for security officers have been met.
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting site security personnel and their job performance
  • Prepare reports as required and provide assistance to site visitors and client employees in a courteous and professional manner
  • Maintain overtime to G4S requirements
  • Other operations-related functions, including payroll; review and maintain incident reports; issue uniforms as needed; coordinate vehicles
  • Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Sound alarms or call police/fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits

The Ideal Candidate

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have prior work experience with the use of badging and camera systems
  • Must have one or more of the following:
    • Service in the active duty military, military reserves, or National Guard
    • Service in Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets
    • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful supervisory experience in security-related industry
    • Associate's degree or higher in any discipline

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be flexible and be able to work traditional and nontraditional work hours as so determined by an event or circumstances
  • Ability to handle complex and sensitive issues
  • Ability to multi-task and manage groups in an environment with little to no direct supervision
  • Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Excellent writing skills for extensive and complex email communications
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity:  Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Standing, walking, and sitting.  Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
