About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Supervisor to join our friendly team based at Hinkley Point C. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.
As the Electrical Supervisor, you will be supporting the Electrical Lead in leading and overseeing a team of Electrical Engineers on a mobile basis across a range of sites within the Hinkley Point C contract. To ensure that the team of engineers complete all PPM and reactive maintenance activities in a timely manner and in line with contract SLAs and statutory compliance.
A fully qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer with 18 th Edition wiring regs is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Electricians, carrying out set to works, permit to works where necessary and supervise with reactive, ppm and minor project tasks.
- Quality check and sign off on minor, new installations and EICRs
- Ensure PAT register is updated
- Help formulate quotes to upgrade existing systems and equipment that are at capacity as well as to install on new minor works projects.
- Carry out H&S checks on the team and working environment.
- Liaise with specialist sub-contractors and set to works to enable servicing
- Operate planned maintenance procedures for assets effectively and safely within their range of qualifications, training and experience.
- Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and damage to assets within their range of qualifications, training and experience as required and by out of hours response where necessary.
- Write up reports and technical procedures for Building Maintenance Activities.
- Assist in the training and development of other maintenance/technical staff involved in site maintenance activities.
- Maintain inspection and repairs to various types of heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical and security etc. equipment and services on site.
- Diagnose faults on all electrical support systems and rectify where necessary within levels of competence.
- Follow detailed drawings and operational maintenance manuals in order to carry out all planned maintenance, routine inspections and repairs.
- Work with other craft qualified, semi-skilled and non-skilled maintenance staff to develop cross-skilling and cover all levels and aspects of maintenance activities on a team work basis.
- Participate in emergency call out arrangements in respect of Integrated Facilities Management Systems on the maintained sites.
- Operate on a fixed site basis for a defined period, to assist in project/development work or to cover for an absent site manager/engineer.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- Fully qualified and experienced Electrician
- Experience of building and facilities maintenance
- 18 th Edition wiring Regs
- C&G 2360/2330 NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Full, clean driving licence
Desirable
- C&G 2391 T&I or equivalent
- C&G 2396 Level 4 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations or equivalent
